Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. – Hebrews 11:1 New International Version – A verse from the bible which always reminds me to believe the unbelievable. Unbelievable for me doesn’t necessarily mean the same definition with others. Everyone comes from different background and environment growing up. And for a person like me who did not experience a well-provided life because of some reasons, riding an airplane was so impossible which by the way my only dream when I was just 5 years old Isn’t funny? *sigh* those childhood dreams
But of course not until I encountered the Creator of the universe in my life. The unbelievable led me to believe and hope for something beyond my control. Don’t get me wrong, the context of what I’m writing here is just one aspect. Who could have thought that a person who you would’nt expect, even far from having a hint blessed you with an airfare, room accommodation, living expenses in attending a conference? A conference that isn’t just national but international, and not just Asia but in a place identified mostly as “the promise land”. Maybe for those who are frugal, they’ve already been calculating. For others, it might be overwhelming just like me. Another reaction would be in a form of a question – can this also happen to me?(at least if you are an Asian as well) Or in an active way of intentionally enlisting it as one of your faith goals. Still, despite of different responses God is God. If it’s His will then it will definitely come to pass. Now that I am here in the US until the 20th of this month. This is one of the unbelievable works of God in my life. And I pray for all of you to have faith in HIM with everything. As in everything, including your salvation – having eternal life in Christ Jesus.
This is FAITH
1. FAITH is confidence in what we hope for. Confidence from dictionary.com means to have a full trust. To completely rely on something or someone. And who did I trust on this?Let God’s will be done. After I attended the 2010 World Conference in the Philippines, without knowing where it will be held again (In Every Nation Ministries which I’m part of, the conference happens every after 3 years) I prayed for confidence that comes from Jesus Christ to believe on this. Later did I know that the location of the conference is in Florida. Hearing the location? I suddenly hesitated and was kind a walking backward. But I got my confidence in Him, despite of doubts occurring in my thoughts once in a while. He made my step firm to walk by faith and not by sight low and behold it comes to pass.
2. FAITH is the assurance of what we do not see. I did’nt see how every procedure would be accomplished. I saw the limited resources I had. To register online, schedule for an interview, get a US Visa, answer the questions of the consul, get a ticket, reserve accommodation, find a place where I can stay after the conference, etc., are just mountains in front of me. It was like a volcano that’s exploding. I could have not seen the place where I am right now if not for the assurance of faith. Before July 29, 2013 happens, I didn’t see the actual me being here yet. For almost 3 years, attending in this conference is just listed in my prayer request manual. Lo and behold, now I am embracing the actual thing that I believed all because I completely trust in HIM.
As the world says “To see is to believe”. They say “Let me see it first before I believe” I just thought of my situation. If I waited to see this experience happened first? I’m not sure if I was able to join the conference and stay here in the US. That could be another thing in what God has impressed in your heart to pray for.
But Jesus said “To believe is to see” and He enabled me to believe that I’ll be part of the world con in this particular manner. Then now, let this blog speaks for itself. You might be thinking, it happens for Ces but not for all not for me. Duh?? The truth is – it’s hard for someone to believe in the things he/she doesn’t see? It may also sound baloney? But what will you loose if you believe and see?
Dare to believe even having eternal life in Christ Jesus? Wait..wait.. This is talking about eternity already, like forever, infinite, never ending and yet we live in a world that is temporal and not permanent? How would I know if there is eternity if I’m not yet there? Again, assurance of what we do not see. TRUST big word? Just TRUST in JESUS CHRIST. It is written in Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your path straight.
Dare to accept His gift even if you are still clueless? The bible says “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. – Romans 10:9,10
This travel to attend 2013 world conference is more than my 10th ride by plane which was just a huge dream at 5 years old. Never I could have thought back then that it will happen not even until the time I surrendered my life to Him as my Lord and Savior. Oopps… this challenge is not telling you that if you receive Jesus then you can have all the things you wish for yourself? Nah!
Dare to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior?
Dare to believe what you can’t see? Dare to believe something beyond your control?
SURRENDER and have FAITH Have a great day….
